The Wiliwili Legacy Initiative is an interactive community science resource and living database for mapping planted wiliwili trees in Hawaiʻi’s urban landscape. Created through a partnership between the Waikōloa Dry Forest Initiative and Waikōloa Elementary and Middle School computer science students, it combines a public web map, dashboard, and stewardship information to support wiliwili conservation. The resource also teaches users how to germinate, plant, monitor, and care for wiliwili trees while contributing data for research and restoration.
