This resource is a standards-aligned watershed curriculum for grades 3–5 that helps students understand Hawaiʻi’s watersheds as a vital natural resource. Through pre-recorded lessons, downloadable presentations, classroom activities, games, and worksheets, students learn about plants, the water cycle, aquifer recharge, ahupuaʻa, and threats to forested watersheds such as invasive species and human impacts. The curriculum is designed for both classroom and distance learning use.

Watershed Curriculum Lesson Series
Students complete a multi-lesson unit on Hawaiʻi’s watersheds through recorded presentations, hands-on activities, worksheets, and games. Activities include modeling a watershed, exploring ahupuaʻa land divisions, examining plant roles in ecosystems, and investigating invasive species and other threats to watershed health.
