This resource supports Hawaiʻi schools with campus tree planning, tree selection, long-term care, and classroom connections to trees and urban forestry. It provides technical assistance, school visits, planning guidance, and links to curriculum, planting guides, native plant resources, and tree care tools. The program helps school communities build healthier, cooler, and more educationally meaningful campus landscapes.
Campus Tree Planning & Stewardship Project
Students and school staff explore the value of campus trees, assess existing tree cover, and plan for future tree planting and care using “right tree, right place” guidance. The resource can support tree mapping, planting events, long-term care planning, and classroom lessons connected to ecology, culture, food, art, and campus stewardship.
