Students revisit major topics including native and invasive plants and animals, inherited and variable traits, adaptations, plant and animal life cycles, the water cycle, weather and climate, and engineering activities.
The packet also asks learners to reflect on what they learned during eight weeks of distance learning, connect science learning to Hawaiian plants, animals, language, and mālama ʻāina, explore inheritance by creating a new bird breed, and use imaginative writing to consider the perspectives of animals shown in photographs.
