Activity:

Hawaiʻi-Based Climate Education Professional Development

Educators participate in a customized workshop or PDE3 course and explore ways to adapt climate-science resources for their students. Participants examine Earth systems, local climate impacts, resilience, stewardship, and strategies for making climate education relevant to Hawaiʻi communities.

The two courses listed are:

Earth’s Systems in My Ahupuaʻa — uses fifth-grade material to explore Earth’s cycles and systems within each learner’s ahupuaʻa.
Global Climate Change: Local Impact and Action — uses middle-school material to examine concepts such as the albedo effect, greenhouse gases, climate impacts, and resilience.
