Resource Title: Mālama ʻĀina Daily Challenge 2 | Kamehameha Schools
Organization: Kamehameha Schools
Description:

Mālama ʻĀina Daily Challenge 2 is a home-based stewardship activity focused on the Hawaiian values of mālama, aloha, kōkua, and responsibility to ʻāina. Students are asked to help their ʻohana at home and then spend at least one hour outside every day caring for the land around their yard, māla, garden, orchard, patio, or other nearby space.

The activity emphasizes real environmental action rather than just reading or completing a worksheet. Students can weed, prune with family help, build a raised garden bed, compost, plant food, collect trash, or choose another action that improves the ʻāina. They then keep a journal reflecting on what they did, how the place changed, and what caring for ʻāina means to them and their family.
