The ʻŌhiʻa Finger Puppet is a printable, hands-on craft designed for keiki to build a wearable lehua blossom, teaching them about the structure and beauty of the ʻōhiʻa lehua (Metrosideros polymorpha) in a fun, interactive way. It fosters creativity, fine motor skills, and an early appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s native plants.
Print the template double-sided on card stock.
Cut out three red circular lehua layers, one green leaf base, and a ring band.
Fold & assemble the flower layers, leaves, and ring band using a brad or glue to create a 3D blossom that fits around the finger.
Wear and share the puppet to celebrate ʻōhiʻa forests and raise awareness for ʻōhiʻa conservation.
