Aloha kākou, I'm Liko Laukahi!

I sprouted in the heart of Hawaiʻi’s forests—one of the most special places on Earth, where some plants grow that are found nowhere else in the world!

As a liko, or young bud, I’m just starting my journey, but even small buds can grow into strong trees. Just like plants, we grow by learning and exploring the environment around us.

Did you know some native plants are so rare, there might be only one left in the wild? That’s why we all have a part to play in helping them survive.

Come join me as we explore the beauty, science, and stories of Hawaiʻi’s native plants. There’s so much to discover—let’s grow together!

I’ll be following along on your journey, popping up here and there to share cool facts, helpful tips, and a little encouragement as you learn. So keep an eye out. You never know where I’ll sprout up next!
